As we walked through the house for the first time, it was very difficult for us to imagine this windowless shell of plywood and 2x4’s as our home. It took a little getting used to at first; the rooms seemed so much smaller without walls.
When we returned for our ‘official’ frame walk with our builder this week, we started to get a much better idea of how things were going to flow in the house; The frame walk was a great opportunity for us to figure out how everything was going to be configured from the get go..
When we initially went through the floor plans at our design centre appointment, we figured out where we wanted our overhead lighting, added a few things like expensive upgrades and subtracted others like bathroom lighting and fixtures. All of the planning came together by the time we got to the frame walk.
During our walk through, we pointed things out that needed to be re-checked.. certain electrical outlet placements were a little questionable and we had to move a few around. Other than that, it went really well!
I can’t believe this is going to be our new home!!
